Afternoon Confections

We decided that dessert was in order for after dinner this evening (mostly to give the girls something to do on an otherwise boring Sunday afternoon). So after a quick trip to shop in my mother's basement for a cake mix, and her happily sharing her chocolate frosting recipe, we had cupcakes, much to my children's delight!! Should I be worried that Liv gets this much of an emotional response from bakery goods?!!

Yes Audrey, thanks for the dress, she hasn't worn anything else since she saw it!!! It is her new "very favorite" dress.

Oh, and since we only ate four of the TWENTY FOUR the mix made, does anybody want one? PLEASE!!!!!

I love the photos of Liv and the cupcakes. I remember Paul telling us about her emotional response to food. Sounds a bit like me...I'll have to steal your mother's icing recipe one of these days. It looks amazing! Oh, how were the meatball subs?

Excitement for treats can never be bad! I just put left over treats...if there are any...in the freezer in bags with just enough for one each to grab when we need a sweet. This way they are out of sight and maybe out of mind. I always hate it, though, when I get a bag out and there is one less that I remember putting in???

Jerianne, the subs were fantastic, you will need to try them out, Paul loved them. For anyone wondering, it was a Rachel Ray recipe - go and download it!!

Hey Bree!

I love the photos of Abby on her bike. She is geeting so old.

Eat your heart out Liv!

Oh yes all my girls have had a favorite dress at some point in their lives. That one was also Grace's favorite for a few months. I am suprised there is any fabric left. I am thrilled to see it put to good use - and thrilled to see another girl get such enjoyment from baked goods. You and me both Liv!

There is nothing better than cake and frosting. It is good to see Liv carry on the Davis family tradition of enjoying a good portion of frosting.

No, you should not be worried that your sweet daughter loves sweets! I am still a major lover of them, especially decadent chocolate ANYTHING, so more power to her! Yum, those cupcakes look fantastic!

Hey, that's what I look like when I eat cupcakes too!! I think Liv is the funniest little girl I've ever seen, she is so cute! I'm glad she enjoyed her treat.

Cupcakes are definitely worth getting excited about. I think we all feel that way about them, but Liv has the innate ability to perfectly express how we all feel!
