Hip, Hip, Hooray!!

The votes are in and I am officially a Supreme Team Member over at GDS!!!

I am sooo very excited. If you would like Click here to see the list
If you are like Paul and I, check to see if your picks made it. We had our favorites, and I have to say I was a bit surprised by who didn't make the cut!

Thank you everyone for your confidence in me and your continued support(I know I was the top views in the last two round because of you!). This really was a very nerve wracking thing and a bit stressful!!

So of course I will be pimping the site and the kits I am in charge of for the next five months, so just bare with me!

Now I am off to shower after my evening workout(ya, the pool was closed so Shamae and I didn't get to swim :( but I did a work out video instead). Everyone have a great day, I know mine can't get much better than this!!

The worst mother award now belongs to....

Yes the coveted title now belongs to me! After a wonderful afternoon yesterday of Eva finally deciding to walk at the ripe old age of 14 months I went and set her back for another month!

Here she is full of life and excitement over her new trick as she walked back and forth across the room last night. Then shortly after decided to climb up on the couch and be tricky. I for one am not a fan of this and when she tried to sit down backwards off the couch I reached over to flip her legs out and make her sit down the right direction and I heard the loudest most ear wrenching POP! She began to wail and Paul came running over asking what that was he just heard. Yes, I now fully except the worst mother in the world award!

It was bed time, and she did calm down. Her foot was responsive to movement (I was worried because it went limp) and she could feel touch so we decided to give her a dose of Ibuprofen and see what she was like in the morning. Well, we were awakened in the morning when she tried to pull herself up in bed and could not do it. She refused to put any pressure on that leg and when we touched her shin she would scream. So we took her in to the Pediatrician to have it check out. The doctor completely agreed after her exam that it must be fractured and ordered an x-ray, which Eva completely disliked and yet again, I felt like the devil as I had to hold her poor leg down on the table to get them, only for the the diagnosis to come back negative. The radiologist couldn't see any fractures and the bones looked in line on the knee and ankle although they could see swelling. So, not a brake, good. Eva still won't walk, crawl or play, without crying and there is nothing I can do about it except wait for the sprain to feel better, BAD! Dr. Frei did say that if she isn't putting pressure on it by Wed. then we should bring her back for some more X-rays. Hopefully, she is doing better by then.

This was not all, we had decided to drive up to our old pediatric office at Alta View Hospital in Sandy because I just love my Pediatrician there, despite the fact that a HUGE storm was heading in. Yes, we pretty much got stuck in the parking lot after the whole ordeal and I had to drive while Paul and some nice man helped push us up the hill! Thank heaven for wonderful family and friends who all stepped up today to help us out. Jerianne for telling me what to do in the case of a broken bone, Paulene for watching Liv, my friend Kerrie for taking Abby home with her from the car pool and then taking her over to my mom's house so that my brother Randy could watch her when we were stuck in traffic on the freeway. I am very blessed, thank you all!!

So a crazy day, but all is well. I am very happy that I didn't brake my babies leg, just severely sprained it!! Yes, the crown belongs to me!!

But just to make myself feel better, this is the picture I found on the camera when I went to download Eva's walking ones.

So this is what Paul does with the girls while I am gone lap swimming at night: Feed them chocolate and milk, then send them off to bed!! Got to love Dad's!!!

Be sure to check back because I find out tomorrow if I become a Supreme Team member over at GDS!!

Happy Birthday Dad

My Dad is celebrating his 58th birthday today. How exciting is that!! I just love him so much and thought I would give him a little tribute. I wish I had pictures on the computer(I have prints but no scanner at the moment) to show everyone that he hasn't change a bit since he was 20! He has a few more grey hairs but he still wears the same size pants(really, how is it that I didn't get any of those genes?).

My father has many great qualities that I could mention (hard worker, strong testimony, leader, structured, scheduled, dependable, generous, athletic, etc.) but I won't bore you with those !! What I want to share is the great quality that I notice in him now that I am older and can better appreciate him(I was one heck of a rotten teenager!).

It is this: I LOVE that when we show up (like tonight!) unannounced, my three crazy girls in tow, he stops what ever he is doing, gives them all a hug, and gets down on the floor and starts playing whatever they are into that day - today it was a tea party, other days it is Barbie's, dress-up, Mr. Potato head, or a board game. I LOVE that he does that. I don't have a single memory of him doing that with me as a child, but lets be honest I am the middle of eight children and he, I am sure, was pretty tired, worn out, and just plain busy! But to see the complete love and joy in his eyes for his grandchildren when ever we come over just makes me love him more.

This is one of my favorite pictures of our family trip to the Redwoods this summer. Isn't it cute that the kids wanted to hike with their grandpa and nobody else. And in all reality isn't it funny that they were the only ones that could keep up with him!!

I also love that he is enjoying his slide scanner that we all gave him for Christmas. We sat together tonight at the computer (between tea party sessions and before he was watching figure skating with Abby!) to show me 1977 - 1989 that he has scanned in already! Isn't that amazing! I just loved seeing all those pictures, most of them I have never seen before. Thanks Dad for the trip down memory lane, and boy, did I have some awful hair back then!!!!

So to you Dad, I hope you had a great day, we sure did love visiting with you, and I hope you know that we love you!

The final round!

My layout is up in the gallery and I am actually very nervous about this one! I have revised it about a thousand times, but I think this one is a keeper. I had a lot of fun putting it together, this was such a different kit than I would ever have thought of using, but it was a well designed one.

So go over and see for yourself, have your friends look, view often, and if you are a member leave a comment. (I know I am shameless!!!) Be sure to come back here and tell me what you think!!

Click to see the Round 4 gallery

There will be a total of 21 layouts this time and only 6 are up at this point, so I can't wait to see what everyone does.

We are off to Zack's birthday party this afternoon and the girls are sooo excited!
Happy Birthday Zack!!!

Have a good weekend!

Movin' on up

Ok, so thanks to Jill's most precious picture and all of your views, I am officially into the final round of my contest!!! I really can't believe that I have made it this far, it being my first ever scrapbooking elimination competition!!! I have been completely enjoying the process though, not using templates and thinking outside my normal routine, it is very fun!

So I have downloaded the new kit.

This is going to stretch my creativity again because as you can see it is a kitchen cooking theme and I don't really do pages about that. The kit itself is HUGE and very well designed, it has a lot of elements that I just love. I will have to think about this for a little while.

Of course when I get the layout up I will post the link so that you can all join in on the fun and excitement with me!!!

Oh, and here is my latest page I made with our Christmas card picture. Thanks again Audrey for your photo taking skills!!

I will be back soon with the link!!

Let the viewing begin!

And the stressing!!! I don't know why this makes me so nervous, but it does!!

My newest layout has hit the gallery and I must thank my sister-in-law Jill for supplying me with a fantastic photo of my nephew Bensen. It was so perfect for the kit we were using, plus his darling face isn't going to hurt with the appeal of the layout!!!

So if you have a moment(or two or three!) head on over and help my views!!

Click to see the Round 3 gallery

Thanks so much everyone, and in case you are interested here is Abby's birthday layout, I was so happy to get to use such fun and girly things on this after making my boy layout for the contest. Really what would I do if I had a son?!!

Love you all!!!

And then there were 27

I am so excited, I couldn't wait to post until tomorrow. I tried, but I am just dying to share this great news with everyone!!! They cut it in half again, from 55 to 27, and I was so elated to see my name on the list again! (Oh, Paulene, my self proclaimed competition DID make the cut, but the one I personally thought was the best didn't, so go figure!)

Ok, enough babbling from me. When I get the new layout up in the gallery I will post a link. You were all so wonderful to help boost my views and I will be needing that more than ever this time, as we get even more competitive!!

Until next time!!

Much thanks!

Thank you Jerianne for teaching me how to personalize my background!! I have been wanting to figure that out for quite some time, so again, thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Oh and here is a picture of Paul and Abby's newest friend, yes, she is six feet tall(I know this because Paul is 6'7'') and it took both Paul and I to stack her together(ok, so I was absolutely no help and the middle section had to be put up in three pieces!!). I hope you will all notice the purse that is hanging from her arm, she must be in style you know! And no, Paul can't even get a snow"MAN" in the yard, naturally it should be a girl!

And here is my Sweet Eva watching her new best friend, Daddy, shovel the walks out front. Yes we had yet another snow storm this morning! How long does this winter thing last? Every time Paul would come back into view she would giggle with delight!

And because I can't leave her out, and I know you will all enjoy seeing her, here is our Sassy little Tinkerbell! (oh, and don't mind all the toys scattered about, it is a Sunday, give me a break right!) You will notice how she was able to match her shoes to the dress perfectly, such a fashionista!!

Be sure to check back on Wed. to see if I made it into round three of my contest!! Thanks for all your support and encouragement!!

Out on a BIG limb

Ok, so I stepped out of my comfort zone and entered a contest over at Go Digital Scrapbooking to become a Supreme Team member. It is a five week elimination contest and the first week of submission was closed on Monday with the judges announcing those who moved on last night. Can I just say that the competition was HUGE! They had no less than 132 entries, mine being one of them. I have been on pins and needles the entire weekend since I submitted my layout last Friday. And well, I am pleased to say that

I MADE THE FIRST CUT!!!!!!!!!!!

I am beyond excited! They narrowed the playing field down to 55 people for round two and I am so excited to give it another go, I just received my email with the links to the new kit and they are downloading as I write.

Here is the layout that I submitted to the first round that won me a place in the second round.
The kit is called Winter Frosting by Andrea Gold. The rules of the contest are that you can only use items from the kit given, except for a font of your choice for a title or journaling. Layout must be 12X12 and your own design, no templates.

Ok, I am off to look at the new kit and start creating! My goal, with this competition being my first ever, was just to make it out of the first round, so anything further is icing on the cake. Wish me luck, and if you could pass some of your creative juices my way, that would be great!!!!

My name is Abby and this is my post

I have decided that since I got this fun digital camera from my Grandma Davis for my birthday, that taking pictures is the funnest thing in the world.

After having Grandpa Davis mention that I should start my OWN blog my mother had to convince me to just use hers! She told me that I was WAY too young to have my very own, while I don't agree, I will go along with her plan!

Here are some of my favorite things at my Grandma Griffiths house.

I like to take pictures of Liv...

and she likes to take pictures of me!

This is my silly Davis family at our New Years Eve party. I did not want to be in the picture because I most certainly needed to stand in front and take the picture!

Eva is my favorite thing to take pictures of. Oh, look, this IS a good one!

Liv LOVES my camera! She always is wanting to use it! When I am feeling like sharing, I let her, but she doesn't take good pictures like me.

Thanks Grandma for this present, I REALLY love this camera, did you know that it can download to the computer? No, don't worry, I will show you how!!

She is 5

Five years ago yesterday Paul and I became parents. I can hardly believe that much time has gone by, as it truly does feel like it was yesterday. How much we didn't know and weren't prepared for! How much we were going to learn. We had no idea the amount of love we were going to have for this small and precious child entrusted in our care!

Abby is the sweetest most kind and giving child. Always wants to do what is right and feels bad when others are unhappy. She is a jewel of a first born. She helps me beyond measure around the house, doing chores(she actually tries to surprise me, with the biggest smile on her face, with a clean room, including Liv's stuff!), taking care of her sisters, and most of all crafting with me for hours on end. Many afternoons she can be heard saying "Mom, what project can we work on together today?" What more can a mother want!!!

Abby is smart and inquisitive, much to the joy of her father. Not only is she interested in what is going on around her, but really wants to know how things work or why things are done. For example, at the Christmas party slide show my parents put on, she came up to me and said "Mom, how is grandpa getting those pictures up on that wall?" I just smiled and told her to go and ask her father because he would get more joy out of that question and telling her the answer!!

Abby makes friends easily and is such a social lite!! Every day we have some neighbor or friend over so that she can host and entertain. She loves going to school, not only because of her intense desire to learn and absorb knowledge, but because there are friends there that she can't wait to share stories with and learn new jokes from. I would say she is a great mix of Paul and I!!

She is the best little shopper a mother could ever hope to have in a daughter! From the day she was born she has loved going out to shop and do lunch. My shopping trips have evolved into waiting until Paul is home so that he can stay with Liv and Eva while Abby and I hit the stores. She also loves to get new clothes, shoes, accessories and anything else girly and fun. She is a girly girl and I love every aspect of that, including all the pink, ruffles, and twirls that it brings with it.

Happy fifth birthday my sweet darling little girl! I love you so much and feel it a complete pleasure to be your mother, you bring me so much joy in this life and I have the highest hopes for your future.
