Grandma and the Grandkids will play!!!
Twice a year, on fall break and spring break, my father goes back home to Shelley ID to help my grandfather get his house/yard/garden ready for winter or summer. This weekend would be no different except that my mother wasn't going to go with him. Instead she decided to fly east and visit my brother Randy and his family that just moved to Iowa and my sister Hillary was going to drive up from Missouri to spend the weekend as well. Now I will not delve into my mood of being upset that I couldn't join her, or my dad for that matter, but will focus on the fact that my mother had ONE night that she was going to have to spend alone before her flight. So what does any loving and devoting grandmother who is afraid of the dark do you ask? Invite her grandchildren over for a sleepover of course!!! While I find her to be completely insane- my girls were SOOOOO excited about the idea that yesterday at 4:00pm they were pulling on my legs and begging me to "Please, Please, go to grandma's for a sleepover"!!! even though nobody would be there until 6:00pm (Naturally Liv was confused when we got there that both grandma's didn't have a "dragonfly room" but we worked it out!!)
I did stay for awhile to help with dinner, get them in there pajamas and wish grandma and my very brave sister-in-law Jenn luck!!
Here are all the girls snuggled into Grandma's bed watching Bednobs and Broomsticks:Here are the boys down stairs watching Indiana Jones:Of course I couldn't leave out the resident superhero's that made the party:It was reported to me that the girls didn't go to sleep until midnight- no word on the exact time that Grandma closed her eyes- I am guessing much earlier explaining the grins on the childrens faces in the morning!!!!

I love your blog!!!!! From the looks of your counter, it looks like everyone else does too! Thanks for sharing your fun times!
XOXO
Asher had such a good time at the sleepover! He hasn't stopped talking about it and everyone he comes in contact with gets to hear about it! Your mom is so brave and thank goodness she had Jenn to help out! Could you email me some of those pic's?
Wow! what fun and lasting memories for the kids. I won't delve into MY mood that we don't live closer so my kids could have similiar cousin experiences!
Found your hubby on Facebook and "stole" the link to your blog. Very cute! What's new? Keep in touch!
I loved hearing about this event first hand from Liv on Saturday. She really had a great time. Your mother is a saintly woman to host such events. Loved visiting with you on Saturday. It was a perfect day;.
What a fun night! We saw all the cute little pictures that they made and posted on the kitchen wall when we stopped in on Sunday. I am sad I couldn't have joined in on the fun. Asher and Matthew look so dang cute in their superhero pjs. I love it!
Wow! Your mom is brave!!
Great way to make memories and so much fun for the kids. I bet you enjoyed having a few hours of freedom too.
Cute photos!!
My kids enjoyed themselves immensely as well--Laurynn loved it so much that she wrote a paper on it for school! Crazy girl! I will be stealing all of these pictures off of your blog; thanks for bringing your camera and taking some cute poses for us! I love your description of that night's events. So much better than my own dull version on my blog!!! See you Saturday once again for another game!!
How fun! Your mom is so sweet. Grandma's are the best!
Grandma sleep overs are the best (especially when Grandma gets to close her eyes)! Fun, fun.
