You know I love a good holiday, birthday, celebration, event, etc. Valentines would be one of them. I hear many people express a dislike of the holiday, "it is so cliche", "it doesn't mean as much", "it makes me feel bad". To those words I say Poo Poo!! Sure we should be telling our loved ones that we love them every day, sure we should be giving little mementos of love throughout the year, so why should February 14th be shut down, why decide that THAT is the day I will NOT tell the person that I cherish most that I love them completely?
I say these things because Paul and I have differing opinions, he hates the holiday, the commercialism, the pressure... You get the point. I don't want him to feel bad on the holiday. I don't want him to loath getting something from me (small, and simple as it may be). I just happen to LOVE holiday's and all they entail. I love to think of my family and plan up ways to make them feel special on any and all holidays (especially Birthday's, don't even get me started on Birthday's!!).
I do understand that he is worn out by this point. Our five months of death, as we so fondly call it around here, that starts in November and goes until Paul's Birthday on March 3 is in full swing. It includes the following family involved gift giving events: My birthday, Eva's birthday, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Abby's Birthday, New Years, My Mom's Birthday, My Dad's Birthday, our Anniversary, Valentines, Liv's Birthday, Paul's Dad's Birthday, and Paul's Birthday. You can see why he begins to wane come Valentines as the end is near and the final sprint begins!!! You also understand why we are pretty much caked out!!
Despite all these thoughts running around my brain, I continued in my preparation for the day tomorrow and the girls and I got to crafting yesterday (because Abby is home on a four day weekend and Liv has been out of school all week due to a teacher down and out, we needed a project) for Valentine's parties that will be next week, and this is the results for the teacher gifts and Liv's Preschool class:
So, do you love the holiday, or are you a hater? Either way I will wish you the very best and all the love you can handle this Valentine's Day!!

I'm a Valentine's Day fan. I've never hated it, not even when I was single.
Valentines celebrations have evolved for us over the years. We keep it simple and always have fun just being together!
Happy Valentine's Day to you too!
I love it as long as it's not overdone. I just like to do cute little gifts and then fun love-themed food. Heart-shaped waffles with strawberries for breakfast, spaghetti with heart-shaped breadsticks for dinner, and then strawberry cream puffs for dessert. So much fun to remind the fam that I love them!
i am a lover.....!!!!....:)
Sorry! Have to say I am with Paul on this one. I don't HATE it like I do Mother's Day, but I just try to overlook this silly, and pointless Hallmark day. Although, it is fun for the kids. All of them had such a great time exchanging gifts and sending candy-grams at school. But none of them were as cute as your flower creations!! Those are fantastic Bree. Maybe if you made my valentines every year, I could learn to like this Holiday. :)
I love it!! I haven't always loved it, but I do now.
Your teacher gifts are so cute!!
You know how I feel about holidays! I'm glad at least one Griffiths is on the same page as me!!
Love those Valentines! So cute!
