Green Lightening

This morning we went to Abby's final soccer game of the fall season. It was 45 degrees at 9:00am but the sun was shining and the players were determined to close out the season undefeated. They played hard, worked as a team and won 4-2 with Abby giving a miraculous assist for the goal to close it out on the final play of the game!! Her team is sooo good and Abby had a wonderful time playing with them. She was one of two girls on the team along with several boys from her school class last year. This year she really "got it" with strategy, playing her position, and getting after the ball. It was great to see the team grow and learn to work together. Last season she so lamented not scoring a goal, but her drive prevailed last week when she scored two!!!
I have to say the games were so much more enjoyable this go around not being the coaches!! We were able to just sit back and cheer on this great team. Thanks to Coach Carter for all the work you put in!

Abby, Sam, Coach Jake, Preston, Cambrige
Janessa, Cody, Timmy, John

They adjourn for the winter (thank goodness, it is cold out there!) and reunite again in March to defend their unbeaten title as the greatest team of 6 year olds ever assembled in Northern Utah County!!!
Way to go Abby and the Green Lightening Team!!

Congratulations Abby. She looks great in those pictures. I'm with you on the cold. We froze in Kobe's game this afternoon! Sadly our season has three more weeks. Here's our favorite soccer quote this week "soccer isn't a matter of life and death...it's much more important than that"
