A little of this, a little of that

Again, another week of not that much going on around here. Friday Abby and I made the cards to take around for the Relief Society Birthdays (she SO loves doing them!).
I have been making different cards each month, mostly because I would get bored doing the same ones over and over, but if any of you have ideas of some simple but cute cards email them my way!!

After forgetting to set my alarm for my spinning class on Saturday, and missing for the first time in three months(I could have killed myself when I rolled over at 8:50am and my class started at 7:30am!) the day was spent out in the nice weather rebuilding our sandbox. The wood was falling apart and the liner had seen better days long ago. So, after moving the sand and taking it all apart, Paul did an excellent job of putting it back together MUCH better than before with new lumber and liner. And just in time for the snow storm that hit Sunday night. We had thought the last one had passed us and we were so lucky, not so much this time!!!

Today has been laundry and cleaning day, so not alot of excitement. But as usual on cleaning days while waiting for the laundry to process I was able to get some pages done- well one page for the GDS gallery using my friend Laura's little boy. I think it turned out pretty cute and I used elements from many of the before mentioned kits.
Next I made this layout of Liv. I find myself doing alot of these types of pages for her- I just can't help taking pictures of her cute face for no reason at all!! That day she had just awakened from her nap and her cheeks were so rosy and her eyes just sparkling as she knelt down in front of me holding her bunny and looked up at me and smiled, (melt) I had to document that face!!
I used the kit given to the Supreme Teams of several sites as a thank you for our work called "Grateful for you". You wouldn't believe the size of this kit, yes, 25 download links to be exact, and it has sooo many wonderful things in it from tonz of great designers. Yes, I have only touched the tip of the iceberg with this layout.
Then to follow in my tradition of changing the wallpaper on my computer I used this down loadable one by Eva Kipler as a template
and created this one:Then I sent this one over to Paul, yes he gets a new one from me every month with fresh faces of his cute girls to keep him company all day!!Finally I don't know how many or if any of you go over to GDS and check out the gallery but this is one that I uploaded a while ago using the Template challenge template by Andrea Gold and Shana's "Party!" kit- don't you just LOVE that cupcake!!!!
So all in all a pretty productive day and I will just keep scrappin and plugin away on the laundry! :)

All dressed up with too many problems!

After church on Sunday I wanted to take pictures of my darling girls all made up for the holiday. It did make us 15 minutes late for church, the least I could do was document it with a photo of all three sister's looking so cute together! Problem #1- bleak landscape. I don't have any flowers in my yard, but to make myself feel a little better about it, nobody else around me did either because the holiday fell so early this year. So my plan was to head up to the Mt. Timpanogos Temple grounds, brilliant I thought!! Certainly the grounds keeper had some secret way of forcing bulbs to bloom earlier than everyone else- wrong. Of course everything was nice and well groomed, and in two weeks it would be brimming with color, but alas all we had were some purple pansies that pretty much blended into the dirt around them. But my mind was set and pictures we would be taking! Until problem #2- beautiful bright SHINING sun in everyone's eyes so all I captured were squinting faces or shadowed faces, amid cries of "The sun is in my eyes"! Not the best, but they will work I suppose.
Good thing they have such cute smiles!

Then we come to problem #3- did you notice that I haven't put up the treasured picture of all three girls together? That is because the third one thought she was free as the wind!! She kept kicking off her shoes and RUNNING all over the place! She wouldn't sit still for a minute.and of course when she did, this is the face she gave me!I guess this will have to do, walking out of her shoes and losing her jacket set to the brilliant backdrop of the parking lot!!

(sigh)- The scrapbooker in me had VISIONS of all that the pages could be! Ok, maybe I am really going to do the mock photo shoot two weeks from now when the flowers are in full bloom like Paul said I should!! I won't tell if you won't!!! :)

So the other day....

I get a call from my dear friend from high school, Kerrie, at 9:30pm asking me if I had checked my mail. Now thinking this very strange I said no and she told me to do so immediately. I quickly followed orders only to find that it contained an invitation to one of the other high school friends (Rachel) bridal shower!! This brought me soooo much joy and happiness and the wonderful event was today! So after spending the morning with my family at the anuall egg coloring and hunt extravaganza, I left Paul with the girls and went over to Rachel's parents house (her dad was my seminary teacher and I hadn't seen him in years!) to celebrate the engagement and catch up on all the gossip and stories from old friends! It was such a wonderful time and I have forgotten how much fun us girls have when we get together! We talk, we laughed, we reminisce, and it was fabulous, how we have let a year go by since our last get together is beyond me, but we have made a pact to have a girls night out before the wedding which is in a month, and I vow here and now to make sure it happens!! I just love these girls!
Now I am posting my gift that Abby and I made to give to Rachel, mostly because I promised Jerianne that I would. Plus I am very proud of how it turned out!! It is a towel wedding cake, made of towels off her registry and decorated with all the Spa amenities that Rachel will need to relax the night before the wedding! Also I attached a "Reception and Wedding Emergency kit" in a little white hand bag! This was filled with travel sized hairspray, brush and mirror, lip gloss, mints, Extra strength Tylenol, nail file, deodorant, and Shout wipes(because spilling on the dress is inevitable!).
So here's to Hearts a flutter with wedded bliss and catching up with old friends (not that we are old or anything, ok, maybe just a little!)

Anyone else

getting pinched right and left by there three little girls who happen to fully understand the concept of St. Patrick's day this year?!!! Yes I dressed Abby from head to toe in green to go to preschool for her party today, so naturally I had to explain why, then we had to make sure that Liv and Eva were in full spirit as well, and don't forget that Liv sent Paul back to change so that he wouldn't get hurt by anyone at work!!!! I didn't seem to have any green workout clothes so they were very happy to pinch away all morning until I was able to finally shower and get dressed for the day around 1:00pm- and no I don't need any abuse about the late hour of my finally getting ready for the day!!

On to more important things, here are some of my latest pages. Just because I haven't been blogging as much lately doesn't mean I haven't been scrapin'- priorities people!!!

I finally got Eva's Red Woods page done, now I can print out the rest of her book this week- I am very excited! Here is Abby's park page using Theresa's "Something Artsy" kit
This layout was picked for the GDS newsletter. It uses Debra's "Meet my Cat" kit, yes I had to get creative since I don't have any pets- but I do have three girls that keep us completely entertained!
I have two layouts for Liv- the first one is a tribute to the fact that she walked around like this singing the Pirate song for a week after the Story time session at the library ended, the theme had been Pirates and for some crazy reason she just LOVED it!!
and this one uses a kit by AmyLeigh called "Brilliant Blossoms"and finally I just uploaded this layout today. It features a kit by Scrapkut called "Romantic Thought"- I love this kit, so beautiful and I thought it would be fun to scrap a page of Paul and I, since I never do that!!It seems very bright and sunny outside today, unless the air is fooling me and it is too cold, I think the girls and I will go out and play this afternoon!!! Have a great day everyone!!

If I may....

use this blog to toot my own horn for just a moment (well, and Shamae's for that matter!). Last night we met one of our many goals for this spring, we swam the mile non-stop from start to finish!! We both walked away with a great sense of accomplishment and pride on our faces!! Now our time was 35 min., so we have some improvement to do, but I feel very good about that. Then this morning I got up early (I know, shock!) and went for my run outside. Yes it was a little chilly and I had on a sweat shirt and mittens, but I haven't run outside in oh, 4 years or so, it felt very good, and I can't believe that I was able to do it sooo much faster than on my tread mill. For instance, I run 5 miles in 56 minutes on the tread, but outside today I just ran 4 1/2 in 45 minutes!! I actually ran the 3.1 (which is the 5K distance of the Tri ) in exactly 30 minutes! Now, I know that it isn't a fast time and again I have lots of room for improvement, but I feel as though I am doing great so far in my training with the Tri being just two months away (May 17 if any of you want to come and watch us!!!).

So there you go, thanks for reading this and know that I have typed it with a huge smile on my face- go me and Shamae!!!!

Jazzed

Sweet Amber and my brother Trace invited us to join them at the Jazz game last night (awesome seats and even better company!). I like sports, I grew up in a sports oriented athletic family. I know the games, the rules and since being married to a sports nut for seven years, I can say I know most players of any given team be it football, basketball, baseball, soccer and even golf. Paul and I love to go to the Jazz games, having lived here my whole life, of course I am a fan, so we jumped at the chance. It was a great game (they won by a landslide!) I think they had no less than five dunks in a row and can you say Memet had 6 threes and the Jazz had 77 points at the half!! But more important than all those stats is that Paul was able to get even closer to his current man crush Kyle Korver!!It is times like these that a better camera would come in handy so that I could blow up these pictures and frame them for him to take to work :)

A big thank you to my parents and Randy and Megan for tag teaming the babysitting for us last minute, hugs all around!

It is always a good time and thanks again Amber for thinking of us!

Simple Pleasures

Today has been a good day. Abby was off to school on time, I didn't forget that it was "S" show and tell day (she took a spider pet shop of course!), she actually completed all her work before coming home (usually she sticks it in her bag so that she can play with the toys and her friends! Sound like anyone you know at her age, yes I was a socialite as well!), then the girls decided they wanted to go up to the Discovery Park by our house and have a picnic. Being that it was a sunny day and I was in good spirits (normally the thought of three kids by myself at the park doesn't set well!) I said yes. Naturally we called Jerianne to meet us over there to let Abby and Shea run out there energy together. It turned out to be a nice outing and it was great to sit and talk with Jerianne, we don't get to do that as much as I would like these days. So here are some pictures just to make you all want to take your children to the park this weekend!!
I must preface this first one of Eva, that it is adorable, but yes she does have the biggest goose egg bruise on her forehead because she decided to just walk off the top flight of stairs, flipping end over end, and landing on her forehead on the wood floor at the bottom (no, THIS one is not my fault, I was out of the house and off duty!). She is ok, and it doesn't seem to have caused any psychological problems as of yet, but man does it look painful!!! She is still cute anyway!
Do you remember the tire swing, Jerianne and I commented on how much it would make us queasy when we were kids, it didn't seem to bother our girls one bit!
Happiness for all today!!

For my LOVE

32 years ago today, my husband Paul came into the world! He was the third child in his family, having two older sisters to love him, the oldest of the boys (two more would follow, along with another sister!). I didn't know him during the majority of his life(we met when he was 23), but I have seen the home video's to prove that he had an immense sense of humor, and huge competitive dive (yes, he cried when his soccer game was canceled when he was 6!) Basketball quickly became his great love and he really excelled! What I do know now is that he has grown in to a very hansom and capable man, who takes care of me, our daughters, my parents, his parents, my brother's and sisters, his brother's and sisters, and our dearest of friends! He can fix a car, plumb the bathroom, put recessed lights into my vaulted ceilings(yes he completed the task last Saturday, yeah!), frame and drywall a basement, fix anything computer related, give the very best bear hugs, and on top of it all tell me everyday that he thinks I am beautiful and that HE is so lucky to have ME. If only I could get him to realize that it was the other way around!!!
Birthday's are not Paul's favorite thing, he is too shy (I don't understand this, I for one LOVE my birthday!) So I will try not to embarrass him too much!
Paul, I love you, I am lucky to have such a capable, passionate and loving person to be my husband and I hope that this day is wonderful!
Happy Birthday!

And a big happy birthday to our nephew Brandon today, and to Michelle and our niece Grace tomorrow, we love you guys!
